What makes getbased different
getbased is built around a few principles that set it apart from most health apps: Local-first. Your profile data is stored in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. AES-256-GCM local encryption is optional in Settings → Data → Security. Nothing goes to a server unless you choose a network feature such as AI, sync, profile sharing, backup, or Agent Access. No account required. Open the app and start using it. There is no sign-up or email. The hosted app may run anonymous cookieless usage stats for product health — no IP, no health data — and you can disable this in Settings → Privacy. Free and open-source. getbased is licensed under AGPL-3.0. You can inspect every line, self-host it, or contribute. Several AI provider paths, including fully local. You choose how AI works — pay-per-query with crypto, one-click OAuth, private-enclave modes, a hosted compatible endpoint, or a downloaded model running entirely on your own machine. getbased identifies whether a Local AI setup runs on this device, your LAN, a remote server, or the cloud. Compare models with evidence. Run a verified 68-result sample report or repeat one of your own imports to compare accuracy, review effort, speed, and runtime details across local models, hosted models, and cloud providers. Any lab PDF, any format. The AI import pipeline reads lab reports from any country, language, or lab. There is no approved lab list.Start here
