What makes getbased different
getbased is built around a few principles that set it apart from most health apps: Local-first. All your data is stored in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB, encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. Nothing goes to a server unless you explicitly opt in to sync. No account required. Open the app and start using it. There is no sign-up, no email, no tracking. Free and open-source. getbased is licensed under AGPL-3.0. You can inspect every line, self-host it, or contribute. Six AI providers, including fully local. You choose how AI works — pay-per-query with crypto, one-click OAuth, a privacy-first cloud provider, or a model running entirely on your own machine.
