What makes getbased different
getbased is built around a few principles that set it apart from most health apps: Local-first. Your profile data is stored in your browser using localStorage and IndexedDB. AES-256-GCM local encryption is optional in Settings → Data → Security. Nothing goes to a server unless you choose a network feature such as AI, sync, profile sharing, backup, or Agent Access. No account required. Open the app and start using it. There is no sign-up or email. The hosted app may run anonymous cookieless usage stats for product health — no IP, no health data — and you can disable this in Settings → Privacy. Free and open-source. getbased is licensed under AGPL-3.0. You can inspect every line, self-host it, or contribute. Several AI provider paths, including fully local. You choose how AI works — pay-per-query with crypto, one-click OAuth, private-enclave modes, a privacy-first cloud provider, or a model running entirely on your own machine. Any lab PDF, any format.
